Vivid images of divinities are ubiquitous in Hindu life today. “Divine Color: Hindu Prints from Modern Bengal” explores the fascinating origins of these bright devotional images from 19th-century Calcutta (present day Kolkata).
Join Laura Weinstein, Ananda Coomaraswamy Curator of South Asian and Islamic Art, to learn more about the exhibition, the first of its kind in the US, which presents rarely seen lithographic prints by Bengali artists alongside other related prints, paintings, sculpture, and textiles.
