Learn about the archeological context of a royal funerary statuette in the collection. The wooden figurine is stylistically dated to the late 18th or early 19th Egyptian dynasty, but its excavation history remains unknown. Nicholas Brown, postdoctoral associate of Egyptology at Yale University, presents his case for the origins of the statuette and provides possible explanations for inclusion of these figures in royal burials.
